Post Properties is a real estate investment trust. Co. and its subsidiaries develop, own and manage multi-family apartment communities in selected markets in the U.S. At Dec 31 2011, Co.'s operating communities were located in Atlanta, GA, Dallas, TX, the greater Washington, D.C. and Tampa, FL metropolitan areas. At Dec 31 2011, Co. had interests in 21,658 apartment units in 58 communities, including 1,747 apartment units in five communities held in unconsolidated entities and 1,568 apartment units at five communities under construction. Co.'s major operating divisions include Post Apartment Management, Post Construction and Property Services, and Post Investment Group.
