Xcel Energy is a holding company. Co.'s subsidiaries engaged primarily in the utility business. Co. has four wholly owned utility subsidiaries that serves electric and natural gas customers in eight states. These utility subsidiaries are Northern States Power Company (NSP)-Minnesota, NSP-Wisconsin, Public Service Company of Colorado and Southwestern Public Service Co., and serve customers in portions of Colorado, Michigan, Minnesota, New Mexico, North Dakota, South Dakota, Texas and Wisconsin. Co.'s nonregulated subsidiary is Eloigne Company, which invests in rental housing projects that qualify for low-income housing tax credits.
