Central Securities is registered as a non-diversified, closed-end management investment company. The Fund's primary investment objective is growth of capital. The Fund invests primarily in common stocks, but it may invest in bonds, convertible bonds, preferred stocks, convertible preferred stocks, warrants, options real estate, or short-term obligations of governments, banks and corporations. The Fund, from time to time, invests in securities, the resale of which is restricted. As of Dec 31 2016, the Fund's investment portfolio totaled $671,645,817 and its assets totaled $674,833,353.
