On this page we examine the GIS dividend growth over time, by tabulating the total dividend ex-dates that fall into each calendar year, and then comparing the year over year totals through time. Each of the GIS dividend growth tables by year are listed below, and overall, the 1996 to 2025 simple average GIS dividend growth rate = 5.86%, with the worst GIS dividend growth rate over that time being -18.64% and the best GIS dividend growth rate being 43.75%, as detailed below. Note: because the method used is to tally all ex-dates within each calendar year, our calculations will also include any "special" dividends that may fall into that year; investors should note that this will produce a different result than if only comparing "regular" dividend growth rate during those periods.
