Louisiana Bancorp is a savings and loan holding company. Through its subsidiary, Bank of New Orleans (the Bank), Co. accepts deposits and uses those funds to invest in loans and securities. These funds are used to make single-family residential mortgage loans, multi-family residential and commercial real estate mortgage loans, home equity loans, lines of credit and other consumer loans. Co.'s deposits consist of checking, money market, savings and certificate of deposit accounts. The Bank's main market area is southeastern Louisiana, mainly Jefferson Parish, Orleans Parish and St. Tammany Parish. At Dec 31 2013, Co. had total assets of $316.7 million and total deposits of $202.5 million.
